Description

This useful apparatus nicely demonstrates how
electrical resistance varies with the length of
wire, diameter of wire and type of wire. The
wires are wound on bobbins, for convenience,
and the resistances can be compared by simply
connecting a suitable multimeter or ohm meter
across the terminals for each coil, in turn. Lengths
and diameters of wires are in two to one ratios to
simplify calculations. The apparatus comprises a
set of five coils wound on identical bobbins and
mounted on a base, with six 4mm sockets for
electrical connections.
